INDUSTRIAL research & development

LIPTON

TOMATO TECHNOLOGY CENTER

Stockton, CA

Lipton required the consolidation of its facilities and food groups involved in the development of tomato based products. This new facility includes the agricultural field group from Stockton, plant genetic laboratories from UC Davis, and the tomato and sauce groups from Shelton, CT. The 25,866 square foot facility provides technical laboratory and administrative spaces in concert with a pilot plant to test developed products.

The design, developed in association with Don Hisaka, FAIA, of Hisaka & Associates of Berkeley, CA, permits ready expansion along main utility service corridors with careful consideration for flexibility in the use of the designed spaces due to seasonal demands.

As an international facility supporting their world-wide operations, it was important that the facility could readily accommodate visitors and present a modern and innovative impression on the users.
